Merry Christmas & Happy 2007!
Happy Holidays! Hope your Christmas preparations are starting to wind down so you can enjoy the season! Once again, all my kids and grandkids will be home to celebrate, so we’re looking forward to being together.
I enjoyed going to Pigeon Forge, TN with Debbie & Carrie in September for their performance at the Country Tonite Theater, and then to Panama City Beach, FL in October with my daughter, Diana (Dee), to celebrate my 75th birthday. I always enjoy traveling and I’m thankful that I still can!
I was also in Nashville with Debbie & Carrie during some of the filming of their new video, “Find Me A Man Like Goober“. They had to postpone the original filming day because of rain, but the weather was perfect the next time. There will be lots of celebrity cameos and special guests in the video. The day I was there, The Hager Twins and the “Grand Ladies of the Grand Ole Opry” - Jan Howard, Jeannie Seely, Jean Shepard and Helen Cornelius were having a great time doing their part! I can’t wait to see the finished product, which should be ready by February or March of 2007. Of course, George “Goober” Lindsey is guest-starring in the video, but other special guest cameos include Bill Anderson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Ralph Emery, Ray Stevens, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and more!
Moore & Moore hope to debut the video at the George Lindsey Film Festival in Florence, AL in March, but there are also plans to have a video release party in Nashville. We’ll keep you posted on the latest developments!
Moore & Moore’s latest CD, “Meant To Be”, has been nominated for the 2007 Country Album Of The Year by the Independent Music Awards! This is a first-time nomination for Moore & Moore for this award and the album is a Top 3 Finalist! Celebrity and industry judges will make the final decision and they include Patty Loveless, Wynonna, Peter Gabriel, Cyndi Lauper, Ozzy Osborne and more!
Moore & Moore will also have a “new” CD before they return to Denmark in the Fall of 2007. The CD will feature all the songs from their previous albums with special guests, and will include a few new songs with new special guests!
Our next newsletter will be out in March of 2007. Hopefully, we’ll all be thawed out by then! Merry Christmas & best wishes for a new year filled with peace and joy!Vivian Moore, President
A Note From Moore & Moore
Tis the season! We hope everyone is enjoying the holidays! We’ve been busy, per usual, as we’re sure everyone else is getting ready for Christmas! Of course, we’ve also been working on our new music video that we‘re very excited about. We can‘t wait to get it finished! We enjoyed performing at the Country Tonite Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN in September with all the legends. Mom was with us and we did a little sightseeing. The “wild women” (Chris Neel & Doris Barr), and Doris’ husband, Gary, joined us for a day at Dollywood. We also enjoyed seeing Leroy Van Dyke and his wife Gladys at the Pines Theater at Dollywood.
We went to Florida for the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival in November. We had a blast with “Morrison-Williams” (Shayne & Clint), who used to be in the band Perfect Stranger. We performed at 3 venues - Mudbugs in Orange Beach, AL, The Reef in Pensacola, FL and the Palm Lake Opry in Foley, AL. We had some great 4-part harmony going on and we hope to perform with Morrison-Williams again in the near future. They’re great to work with!
We just got back from Las Vegas and really had a great time. We attended a fair buyers convention and had a lot of fun in the process. We ended up meeting the crew from Brooks & Dunn on our flight, who invited us backstage to their concert at the Hilton. We were also invited backstage for the Big & Rich concert our first night in town. We attended a lot of parties and showcases and got to see some great entertainment. We even sang a little ourselves! We also got bumped up to a gigantic suite for our stay at Bally’s, so we had a wonderful time in Vegas!
As we mentioned before, we have a new MySpace website: www.myspace.com/mooreandmoore If you’re signed up on MySpace, please look us up and add us to your friends list! If you haven’t ordered the new Meant To Be CD yet, you can order it from our website (via CDBaby.com) or directly from the fan club. “Find Me A Man Like Goober” is included on the 11 song CD, as well as the Christmas song, “Green, Red, White & Blue“.
We’re looking forward to the new year and to seeing all of you again. Your friendship and support means “moore” than you’ll ever know! Merry Christmas!
Love, Debbie & Carrie
